Believe In The Immaterial
The Immaterial to me, as of right now, consists of moments that inspire joy and radical hope. I see this in the way the late afternoon sunlight hits washed up logs I used to sit on with my friend who I will never have the gift of sharing space with again. I see it in the way my mother oils my hair, the gentleness with which she put surma in my baby eyes. I see it in the sweaters my Nani Jaan knit for me and in the way I can literally feel my pupils dilate when I look at the people I love. The world blooms at my hopeful touch.
This work consists of a sculptural installation (60" x 60") and a video projection.
